NATIONAL IMPACTS OF THRSL
WEBSITE AND OTHER MEDIA RESOURCES
We created a website, Facebook page, Instagram account, Twitter account, and WhatsApp account to enhance awareness of Tobacco Harm Reduction (THR). We created a session for inquiries on our Facebook page, a WhatsApp contact link on the website for counseling, educating smokers about tobacco harm and the health benefits of quitting tobacco smoking, and introducing the public to less harmful alternatives nicotine products.
SEMINAR
We organized a seminar for about 47 smokers within the central part of Freetown (Circular Road), where we gave in-depth lectures on the effects of tobacco smoking, the health benefits of reducing and quitting cigarette smoking, and introducing smokers to alternative nicotine products that are less harmful compared to cigarette smoking.
THR-SL OUTREACH
THRSL has been doing outreach on raising awareness about tobacco harm reduction, the effects of tobacco smoking, and the introduction of alternative nicotine products (e-cigarettes, nicotine patches, nicotine gums, snus, etc…) and how to reduce or quit tobacco smoking at different car wash places, transportation parks, and ghettos in different places (Regent road, Circular road, Dwarzark, Brookfields, Wilberforce, Lumley, Aberdeen, Ogoo Farm, Mambo, Lumley beach, Aberdeen beach etc…

Pictures and interview videos obtained from the outreachs have been posted on the website, Facebook page, Instagram, and Twitter so other people in and out of the country will be able to see, learn and share information about tobacco harm reduction in Sierra Leone.
DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE
Due to the high number of people who were willing and passionate to join the outreach (awareness campaign), we have chosen representatives from selected districts (Kono district, Kenema district, Port Loko district, Koinadugu district, Falaba district et.) to act as ambassadors in raising awareness about THR in their different districts for THRSL.
